Homemade night vision question…?

I’m working on building a night vision system using components made for security systems. My plan is to use a CCD security camera with IR leds in conjunction with an IR spotlight(supposedly 500′ range) and a 2.5" lcd monitor. It will be powered by a lithium-ion battery pack and should run for 5 hours on each charge. I’m going to use a bike helmet and a paintball mask as the frame. I want to know if someone has any input that might help me get it done. Criticism is encouraged and any ideas will be considered. Thanks!

Before it’s brought up, I do not have the money to just buy a set. The only ones in my price range are terrible.

Also, I’m well aware that the IR light beams will make me look like a walking lighthouse to other NV systems. I just want a functional night vision system with decent range(50 yards) for less than 0.
The LEDs are built into the camera and spotlight assemblies. I would rather not have to do any soldering.
